After a weekend off, the Toronto Marlies and Texas Stars return to the ice for Game 2 of the Calder Cup Western Conference Finals at Cedar Park Center. Puck drop is at 8:30pm live on LeafsTV.

The Marlies currently lead the series 1-0 after a 5-1 victory over the Stars in Texas on Friday night. Brandon Kozun opened the scoring for the Marlies while T.J. Brennan and Peter Holland scored just 13 seconds apart in the second period. Drew MacIntyre made 49 saves in the Marlies winning effort.

Despite the score, Marlies head coach Steve Spott acknowledged that the team could play better. “We were opportunistic I think, but it looked like we were off seven days.” The Stars outshot the Marlies 50-17 and the Marlies acknowledged that a better defensive effort will be required for Game 2.
