Scientific theory isn’t likely what you think it is. We’ve become so used to detective shows offering us crime theories that we forget what the word means to the people who use it accurately.  It is akin to the word moron, which was a medical designation that quite quickly became derogatory slang. Real theories aren’t just some notion or gut feeling. Science theory explains things like gravity, relativity, motion, evolution. It carries the credentials of what we know so far about something is the accepted truth until, and this is […]

DESSERT

Even in the last game of the regular season, the Marlies had a 1st to celebrate. Tyler Biggs recorded his 1st AHL/Pro goal with the 1st tally of the game vs St. John’s. Biggs collected 26 this past season with the Generals in the OHL and had 9 with Miami of Ohio one year before in the NCAA. The former Maple Leaf’s 1st round pick became the 9th Marlie player this season to record his 1st AHL goal in the 2012-2013 campaign. Congrats, Tyler!

DESSERT

Welcome aboard! The Toronto Marlies have lowered the ramp and a mass of talent has formed a crew of young guns trying to make their mark in the AHL. Following in the skate strides of Rielly, Sparks, Broll and Percy are other CHL grads Tyler Biggs (Oshawa-OHL) and Joshua Leivo (Sudbury/Kitchener-OHL) to go along with a captain last year in the NCAA – Andrew MacWilliam (North Dakota).

Tyler Biggs hit the OHL for the first time this season and […]

Toronto sits in second and although a run for the top spot is possible, eyes right now are on fending off the Griffins only one point behind. Oklahoma City sits seventh. The Barons […]

There you have it. Following Chicago’s loss on Friday night, the Marlies now know they have one of the eight Western Conference tickets allowing entry into the post-season gala. Now all that’s left to be decided is in which spot they’ll be slotted and if it will guarantee home ice advantage.

Marlies presently hold the conference’s second place. With a game in hand on first place Texas, a win against Abbotsford in their final duel this season will go a long way. Here are […]

Do I spoil the surprise now, or do I wait to include it in one of my six points to think about? That is the question.

Oh what the heck. Why not?

The Toronto Marlies could clinch a playoff berth with a win against Abbotsford. Exciting, isn’t it? With only six games remaining in the regular season, the post-season seems to be within arms reach. The Heat however have the happy job of playing spoiler. Already eliminated from playoff contention, each win garnered by the […]
