It’s two wins in two nights for the Marlies as they continue through their second three-in-three of the season, Friday’s coming in a more decisive fashion than the first. But who’s keeping track?

Jussi Rynnas notched his second shutout in three games and Leo Komarov now has three goals in the first two games of the weekend.

And as the Marlies did everything they could on the ice to ensure success, I noticed a new trend develop amidst all of us back in Toronto rooting for the boys in blue. ...

Alright, that was one heck of a third period. I liked it so much so that I thought I may just put out a little something special.

Down 4-2 entering the final frame, giving up was the last thing on the Marlies mind. After a road trip that has been a bit bumpy at times, this period of excellence couldn’t have come at a better time; likely for both us and the team. It helped me remember just how much talent is contained on this roster.

So, for a moment of ...

Toronto vs Hamilton -

As Toronto prepares to host Hamilton for the first time this season, they also search for their first points against the QEW rival.

The Bulldogs took game one of the home-and-home set on Friday by a score of 4-1, notching three unanswered tallies before Toronto posted one. Louis Leblanc, playing on a line with former Marlies forward Darryl Boyce, scored a pair of goals.

This has enough content to be a prime-time Emmy award winner.

QEW rivals Toronto and Hamilton square off in their first of 14 meetings – which also happens to kick off both of their preseason schedules – Saturday at 7:00pm in Cobourg.

Looking back over ...

Like you, I’ve spent a good number of hours pouring over statistics.

I’m talking every digit you could imagine.

From rookie season goal totals to penalty minutes in major junior. I’ve allowed my eyes to peruse plus/minus ratings in the playoffs and average ice time during NHL stints. I’ve compared face-off stats, penalty kill rates and goals scored while four-on-four.

One digit I cannot find ranked in a column, however, is that of chemistry. It’s an unquantifiable bond that propels lines to heights greater than ...

Would you look at that. Just look at it.

Season number seven is coming to a close.

It didn’t hit me until sometime between my third and fourth coffee this morning. An early trip to Pearson to see the team off as they depart for Abbotsford on their final regular season road trip had my mind silently reviewing the year as my eyes inspected their lids on the ride back.

Two-hundred and eight thousand fans. Two hundred and thirteen goals for. Seventy-four games and forty-four ...
