So much can change in just six games.

When the Marlies departed Ricoh and took to the road, the opening of NHL training camp was yet to be confirmed. Keith Aucoin had yet to be called to camp, let alone collected off waivers by the New York Islanders organization. Ben Scrivens was starting in goal on a regular basis for the Toronto team, and the blue line was bolstered by Mike Kostka and Mark Fraser.

For Dallas Eakins, the Marlies’ bench boss now in his fourth year, change has become […]

It’s going to be tight.

It’s a fact of today’s American Hockey League that head coach Dallas Eakins has been reminding his team of all along. It has also become a reoccurring theme during his post-game public address to the media.

Wednesday’s game in Cleveland against the Monsters demonstrates this perfectly.

Lake Erie sits in the 13th spot of 15 teams in the AHL’s Western Conference. With a glance down the standings, Lake Erie’s 26 points is only two back of an 8th place poll position. One win. A jump to […]

The Toronto Marlies turn their attention Sunday to the Lake Erie Monsters, a team they have only met once so far this season.

Despite having won only two of their last eight, the Monsters aren’t a team the Marlies can afford to take lightly. The divisional foe handed the Toronto a 4-0 loss their first time in town, and rank third in the league with a 8-4-0 record while on the road. That record is much for the reason of the team’s sixth place standing in the Western Conference, […]

Toronto vs Lake Erie - Nicolas Deschamps

Flying high after a big win in front of a capacity crowd, the Toronto Marlies will look to do it all again on Sunday as the Lake Erie Monsters come to town. That’s makes back to back divisional games for the Toronto team.

It seems like almost every wild game I can remember the Marlies being involved in happened against Lake Erie. There was one night in Cleveland where the Marlies seemingly scored although it was never recognized by the officials, not that I blame them; the puck went right through […]
