Toronto vs Lake Erie - Spencer Abbott

When Keith Aucoin started the season scoring at a point-per-game pace, I don’t believe many were surprised. The veteran had long inked himself as a consistent contributor in the American League.

Matt Frattin’s goal-per-game pace raised a few more eyebrows. I’m not saying it isn’t incredible – because it is – but I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t already thought of Frattin as an impact player. All of us knew he was going to make a splash upon return. He’s a guy that […]

Toronto vs Lake Erie - Nazem Kadri

The Toronto Marlies turn their attention Sunday to the Lake Erie Monsters, a team they have only met once so far this season.

Despite having won only two of their last eight, the Monsters aren’t a team the Marlies can afford to take lightly. The divisional foe handed the Toronto a 4-0 loss their first time in town, and rank third in the league with a 8-4-0 record while on the road. Hershey Bears - Braden Holtby

After falling to both the Senators and the Penguins on the road, Dallas Eakins stated that he remains proud of how his team has played.

For many, the Marlies strongly outplayed their opponents in the first half of a four game road trip and have deserved a better result. Matt Frattin goes down with an unfortunate injury the secure the advancement to the Calder Cup Finals for his team, doesn’t play again for nearly six months and then scores a pair of goals in his return. With all the focus once again turning on the offensive output of Nazem Kadri, the talented forward silences his critics with 10 points in four games. Paul Ranger takes a leave from the game for almost three years, returns as part […]

Toronto - Keith Aucoin

***

UPDATE: Matt Frattin to dress for the Toronto Marlies tonight. In his 13 playoff games prior to injury Frattin scored 10 goals, 13 points. Certainly a welcomed return to the Toronto lineup.

As it marked the beginning of the Marlies extended time away from Ricoh, so too does it indicate the end.

The Toronto Marlies return to Copps Coliseum to meet the Bulldogs after stringing together four wins and suffering only two losses since they last squared off in a game that was ultimately decided by Simon Gysbers’ overtime goal. Those four […]
