Marlies forward Will Acton was the hero scoring  at the 5:14 mark of the 20 minute extra frame. When it was all said and done, Toronto had 14 skaters pick up at least a point in the opening ...

Well this seems awfully familiar, doesn’t it? Marlies roll into Rochester, up 2-0 in the series looking to close out strong. The team has seen great performances from their netminder and a bearded gentleman wearing #29 on his sweater while being supported by great numbers at Ricoh Coliseum. Even in the last game of the regular season, the Marlies had a 1st to celebrate. Tyler Biggs recorded his 1st AHL/Pro goal with the 1st tally of the game vs St. John’s. Biggs collected 26 this past season with the Generals in the OHL and had 9 with Miami of Ohio one year before in the NCAA. The former Maple Leaf’s 1st round pick became the 9th Marlie player this season to record his 1st AHL goal in the 2012-2013 campaign. Congrats, Tyler!

With only four points between the Marlies and the western conference leading Texas Stars, four wins could go a long way to earning the top spot. The Marlies will start Friday evening in St. John’s for the first of back-to-back games against the IceCaps. Here are six things you should know ahead of the game:

The most recent in a long string ...
