The early morning sun peaking over the Don Valley Parkway, the smell of fresh popcorn and the sound of seven thousand screaming school age children – nothing is more telling of 11am hockey than the way your senses tingle. Alright, this is where the real fun begins. Eleven games and counting left in the 2012/13 season. Marlies are in Rochester in their final game of their seven game road trip and – like all of us – want to return home on a winning note. Sam Carrick has played hockey in the Toronto area for a long time. The 21-year-old played his entire OHL career in Brampton, totalling almost 300 games with the Battalion. Games at hand. The amount of games a team has played can help determine where they end up in the standings. It played in Toronto’s favour, following a win on Sunday, as the Marlies jumped from 8th to 3rd in the Western Conference.
