Even in the last game of the regular season, the Marlies had a 1st to celebrate. Tyler Biggs recorded his 1st AHL/Pro goal with the 1st tally of the game vs St. John’s. Biggs collected 26 this past season with the Generals in the OHL and had 9 with Miami of Ohio one year before in the NCAA. The former Maple Leaf’s 1st round pick became the 9th Marlie player this season to record his 1st AHL goal in the 2012-2013 campaign. Congrats, Tyler!

It was no ordinary trip through the Midwest division for the Toronto Marlies this past weekend. The group of games through Chicago, Milwaukee and Peoria represented numbers 3,4 and 5 of 7 straight away from Ricoh Coliseum and also brought the total number of states visited to 4 during the stretch of travel/games. However, those are not even the cool stats! The game against the Wolves, followed up by the game vs the Admirals represented to milestone moments for a pair of young Marlies.

AHL Toronto Marlies vs Binghamton Senators, March 2, 2013

DESSERT

Sam Carrick has played hockey in the Toronto area for a long time. The 21-year-old played his entire OHL career in Brampton, totalling almost 300 games with the Battalion. After a stint with Idaho in the ECHL, the Stouffville native returned home to play his 1st AHL game in his own backyard. Lacing them up for the Marlies on Saturday vs the Binghamton Senators, the Maple Leafs 5th rounder was quick

to make it a milestone affair. Sam tallied an assist on Toronto’s opening goal of the game, and grabbed his […]

Although finishing the 2011-2012 AHL campaign short of their goal (Calder Cup championship) the Toronto Marlies had a season like none witnessed before. Here is a look back to some memorable occasions experienced during an incredible run for Toronto hockey fans.

Way back before a puck had been dropped on the 2011-2012 […]

I’ve seen some pretty good magicians in my day. Many that left me shaking my head when somehow they pull off guessing a card I picked out “randomly” from the center of a deck. Not even David Copperfield could work his magic to decide a playoff opponent for the Toronto Marlies right now, however. Much like your uncle’s card tricks, you could take several guesses as to what team Toronto would face in the first round of the 2012 Calder Cup playoffs and still not get it correct. With the […]
