The American Hockey League announced their roster today for the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic, which will take place on February 11-12 in St. John’s. T.J. Brennan will be representing the Marlies on this year’s squad as they take on Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League in both the Skills Competition and All-Star game.

The AHL All-Stars will be coached by Jeff Blashill, head coach of the 2013 Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins, and Rob Zettler, head coach of the Syracuse Crunch. Click here to check out the full 2014 AHL All-Star Roster.

This year’s squad comprises of only 20 players as opposed to the 48 chosen in previous years and was chosen by a committee of AHL coaches and general managers. Brennan, who currently leads the Marlies in scoring with 32 points over 33 games, also leads all AHL defencemen in points (32), goals (14), shots (107), powerplay goals (7) and powerplay points (17).

Brennan, who started off the season with 2 hat tricks in his first three games with the Marlies, spoke about his offensive start, his love of hockey, and his approach to the game earlier this year with Todd Crocker. Check out the feature below.


As part of this year’s AHL All-Star Festivities, the Toronto Marlies will also be facing off against Färjestad BK in an exhibition game on Saturday, February 15th at 3:00 pm at Ricoh Coliseum. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online here or by calling 416-597-PUCK (7825).

    TJ Brennan is this seasons wild card for the Leafs. Trading Paul Ranger is imminent and adding TJ to the lineup has to happen! This guy is truly special and he will only add to the developing offensive weaponry of the Leafs future. Good luck TJ!!
