The Toronto Marlies (38-20-2-3) will be hosting the Rochester Americans (30-24-6-4) today at 11am for their final School Day Game this season. This will be the 6th of 10 match-ups against the Americans for the Marlies this season. The last time these two teams met was on March 14th in Rochester where the Marlies defeated the Americans 2-1 in overtime. The Americans currently lead the season series 3-1-1-0.
With 70 points, the Americans are 11 points behind the Marlies for first place in the North Division. The Americans were shutout for their second straight game after dropping a 3-0 decision to the Lake Erie Monsters on Sunday in Cleveland. The loss extended the team’s winless streak to a season long six games.
The Marlies are coming off of a 3-2 win over the Abbotsford Heat to wrap up back-to-back games this weekend and have won four of its last five games. Peter Holland had two assists in the Marlies victory and was named the game’s first star.
