It’s a busy weekend for the Toronto Marlies (41-22-2-4) as they close out a three-in-three weekend as they hit the ice this afternoon against the Utica Comets (31-29-4-4) at 3pm. The last time these two teams met was this past Friday, where the Comets defeated the Marlies in a convincing 5-1 victory. The Marlies will once again be looking to secure the North Division championship with a win this afternoon.

The Comets were defeated 6-5 in OT by the Syracuse Crunch last night on the road. The Comets held a three-goal lead late into the third period before the Crunch managed to come back and win it in OT. With 71 points, the Comets sit third in the North Division.

The Marlies are coming off of a disappointing 4-3 loss to the Rochester Americans. After leading the game 3-0 early on, the Americans stormed back in the final frame to complete the comeback. Josh Leivo scored two goals in the victory and became the first Marlies rookie to score 20 goals in one season.

Puck drop is at 3pm, catch all of the action on Sportsnet360 and TSN1050. Don’t forget to follow the official Marlies Twitter account (@TorontoMarlies) and join us for the #MarliesLive live chat.
