Usually I’m game for coincidental stats. But this time I’m not too hot on it.

The Marlies are coming off a 4-3 shootout win. It’s only the second time they have seen the shootout this season. The first time was a Sunday home game against Grand Rapids. A contest the Griffins won 4-3.

Do you see what I’m talking about? A little close for comfort.

Haven’t had enough of the Americans yet? Well then, you’ve come to the right place.

For the fourth time in two weeks the Marlies will take on divisional foe Rochester. The good news? the previous three have resulted in wins. It’s neat. Having access to the rookies as they experience things for the first time.

I feel like it is the closest we can get to experiencing it ourselves – whether it be a training camp, a first game or a road trip. For the newcomers, it hasn’t become routine. The novelty hasn’t worn off.

It could be a two milestone week for the Toronto Marlies Hockey Club. Brad Ross scored his 1st pro goal on Sunday, and it was timely vs. the Abbotsford Heat. Ross tipped in a point shot during the 3rd period that would tie the game at two goals apiece and produce a comeback for Toronto in the game. Felix Beargartner

Nothing says Christmas like a stuffed bear leaping from the arms of a full grown man, over the boards in a local hockey rink, and plummeting down on to the frozen playing surface below.

Amidst a sea of amigos, Felix Beargartner made his leap on Sunday when Greg McKegg scored the Marlies first goal against the Abbotsford Heat.
