If you were a kid of a certain age and you were injured it was a pretty good bet that you were asked if you were bleeding. That was the departure point of where things became serious. Bleeding. If you were bleeding you had to go inside and see someone about it. When you emerged with iodine and and a bandage there was some playground respect and then all was forgotten.
