The Toronto Marlies (14-9-1-0) are in Rochester to take on the Americans (12-11-2-2) tonight at 7:05 pm. This will be the fourth of 10 match-ups between the North Division rivals this season. So far, the Marlies have a record of 1-2 against the Americans. Their last meeting was on November 30th, when the Marlies defeated the Americans by a score of 3-2 at home.

The Americans last game was on Saturday, December 14th where they were shutout by the Syracuse Crunch 1-0 while on the road. The loss ended a brief two-game win streak for the club. Phil Varone leads the team in scoring with 27 points over 26 games played.

The Marlies are coming off of a 3-2 victory over the St. John’s IceCaps this past Sunday at home. Drew MacIntyre made 31 stops in the victory, while David Broll scored the game winner. With 29 points, the Marlies have a one point lead for top spot in the North Division, followed close behind by the Americans with 28 points.
