The Toronto Marlies (6-5-1-0) will be rounding out their 6-game road stand when they take on the Lake Erie Monsters (6-6-0-0) tonight in Cleveland.
This will be the second of 8 match-ups between the two division rivals. The last time the Marlies and Monsters met was on Sunday, October 6th where the Marlies defeated the Monsters by a score of 5-1. The Monsters are coming off of a 2-1 shootout victory against the Rochester Americans on Monday. Calvin Pickard stopped 34 shots in the victory while Bryan Lerg scored his second shootout goal of the season. With the victory, the Monsters are 3-2-0-0 against North Division opponents and hold a record of 6-6-0-0, good for fourth in the North Division.
The Marlies are coming off of back-to-back losses against the Abbotsford Heat on the road this past weekend. Spencer Abbott tallied 4 assists over the weekend in BC and extended his point streak to 11 games. Abbott currently ranks 1st in the AHL in assists with 16. Trevor Smith also extended his point streak to six games over the weekend.
