The Toronto Marlies (37-20-2-3) host the Abbotsford Heat (35-23-5-2) this afternoon at 2:30pm at Ricoh Coliseum on Sportsnet360. This will be the third of four match-ups between the two teams this season. The last time the Marlies and Heat met was on November 10th, where the Marlies were defeated 6-3 in Abbotsford. The Marlies are currently 0-2 against the Heat this season and will be looking to change that this afternoon.
The Heat are in the middle of a six game road trip and were in Hamilton yesterday taking on the Bulldogs where they came away with a 5-1 victory. Aaron Dell made 37 saves in the victory for his first career AHL win. Max Reinhart leads the team in scoring with 48 points over 58 games played. The Heat currently sit second in the West Division with 77 points.
The Marlies are coming off of a 5-1 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals yesterday at Ricoh Coliseum. Trevor Smith scored the lone goal for the Marlies. With 79 points, the Marlies remain first in the North Division.
