It’s Saturday afternoon and we’re inside ten games left in the AHL regular season. The Marlies are finally finished that last big road trip, and they return home to a familiar crowd. Abbotsford is in town, a divisional rival that has a long history of hard fought games against the Marlies. Here are six things to keep in mind ahead of the game.

  • Toronto returns home after seven straight on the road where they registered four wins and two post-regulation losses, leaving only a single game where they failed to pick up a point
  • Saturday is the sixth meeting of the season between the Marlies and Heat, Toronto garnering only a single victory in the five previous battles
  • After their victory over Hamilton on Friday, Abbotsford sits two points out of a playoff spot while the Marlies are ranked second in the conference, five points out of first
  • Jerry D’Amigo has three goals in the past four games and five in the past seven
  • Abbotsford has not strung together back-to-back wins since February 9th and 10th against Lake Erie
  • Tune into all the action starting at 3pm on Rogers TV and AHL Live

12:10pm: Marlies announce the signing of Ryan Grimshaw and Corey Syvret to AHL contracts. The pair of defencemen have dressed for 16 and 11 games respectively.
