It’s game day! The Marlies (6-3-1-0) are in Abbotsford to take on the Heat (9-4-0-1) tonight at 10:00 pm ET for the first game of a double-header. This will be the first of four match-ups between the two teams this season and this weekend will be the only visit to B.C. for the Marlies this year. Last season, the Marlies had a record of 2-6 against the Heat.
The Heat enter tonight’s match-up on a five-game win streak and are sitting second in the Western Conference. All 5 victories in the win streak have been decided by only one goal. Their last match-up was on Wednesday night at home where they defeated the San Antonio Rampage 3-2 in a shootout. Forward Blair Jones is on a five game point streak with 4 goals and 2 assists over that time.
At the other end of the ice, the Marlies are coming off of a 5-2 win over the Utica Comets on Tuesday evening in Utica. T.J. Brennan had his third multi-goal game of the season, notching two goals in the victory. Spencer Abbott extended his point streak to 9 games with an assist on Jesse Blacker’s goal in the second period. The Marlies are currently first in the North Division and third in the Western Conference.
