The Toronto Marlies (34-19-2-3) are in Rochester to take on the Americans (30-20-5-4) tonight at 7:05 pm in a key divisional match-up for the two teams. The Marlies are currently first place in the North with 73 points, while the Americans are not far behind with 69 points.

The Americans are coming off of a 5-4 overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Barons at home on Sunday to close out a three-in-three. Phil Varone notched three points in the victory and has collected 7 points in his last three games. Varone currently leads the team in scoring with 50 points over 52 games.

The Marlies are coming off of a 4-3 shootout loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Sunday, which was also the final game in a three-in-three for the team. Trevor Smith had two points in the loss while Spencer Abbott notched his 14th goal of the season. Abbott currently leads the team in scoring with 62 points over 55 games.
