The Toronto Marlies (34-19-2-2) finish off their third game in three days as they host the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins (31-20-3-5) today at Ricoh Coliseum for 1964 Night.
This will also be the third game in three days for the Penguins as the team concludes a five-game road swing today in Toronto. The team is coming off a 4-2 victory yesterday in Hamilton against the Bulldogs. Andrew Ebbett had three points in the victory. Tom Kostopoulos currently leads the team in scoring with 41 points over 56 games.
The Marlies are coming off of a 4-1 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters in what turned out to be another fight-filled match. Josh Leivo had a hat trick in the victory, his second of the season while Brandon Kozun also scored for the Marlies. Christopher Gibson took the win with a 21 save performance.
Be sure to get to your seats early as the Marlies will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Championship winning Toronto Marlboros team. Members of the original team will be in attendance for a pre-game ceremony. The 1964 team is widely considered one of the best junior teams in history, so don’t miss out.
