The Toronto Marlies fell to the Texas Stars by a score of 5-2 Saturday evening at Cedar Park Center in Texas.

Brett Ritchie opened the scoring for the Stars at 14:51 of the first period. The Marlies would tie it just 31 seconds into the second thanks to Spencer Abbott’s second goal of the season. However, the Stars would score 3 goals to give them a 4-1 lead. Carter Ashton scored at 16:10 of the second period to make it 4-2, but the Marlies couldn’t battle back from the deficit, as Mike Hedden would score in the third to seal the 5-2 victory for the Stars.
