The Toronto Marlies suffered their first loss of the season in their first road game of the year with a 4-1 loss to the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena on Friday evening.

Dan Catenacci scored just nine seconds into the game to give the Americans the 1-0 lead. Luke Adam, the Americans current leading scorer, gave the team the 2-0 lead at 9:46 of the first period. The Marlies would get on the board in the second with Wade MacLeod cutting the Americans lead in half to make it 2-1. However, the Americans would respond in the third with a power play goal from Matt Ellis at 5:02. Phil Varone would score less than four minutes later to secure the 4-1 victory for the Americans.

Next up, the Marlies return home to host the Hamilton Bulldogs in the first of 12 match-ups between the two teams on Sunday, October 20th. Puck drop is at 3:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased by calling the team’s ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
