After taking a 3-0 series lead over the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday thanks to Jerry D’Amigo’s overtime goal, the Marlies have a chance to close out their best-of-seven series tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.
The Marlies and Wolves traded goals early in the first period of Game 3 with T.J. Brennan opening the scoring on the powerplay early in the first. Peter Holland scored his third goal of the playoffs, giving him 5 points over 3 games played. D’Amigo continues to lead the team and the League in scoring with 11 points over 6 games. Toronto is the only team that has yet to lose a game in the postseason and will look to continue that trend tonight against the Wolves.
Dmitrij Jaskin leads the Wolves in scoring with nine points (four goals, five assists). Jaskin is third overall in the League behind D’Amigo and Travis Morin of the Texas Stars.
The Wolves rank 5th in the AHL for power play percentage (24.3%) and 16th in AHL postseason penalty kill percentage (68.6%) while the Marlies power play is operating at 29%, good for 3rd over all in the AHL. The Marlies rank 4th in postseason penalty kill percentage at 88%.
