Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals between the Toronto Marlies and Texas stars comes to Toronto tonight at 7pm. The Stars evened up the series 1-1 with a convincing 6-3 victory over the Marlies on Monday night in Texas.

Brett Ritchie and Scott Glennie had two goals each for the stars while Mike Hedden had three assists in the Stars win. The two teams traded goals in a 5-goal second period, but the Stars ultimately came out on top in the end to tie up the series. Toronto went 1-for-5 on the powerplay, while Drew MacIntyre stopped 46 of 51 shots he faced. The loss was the first that the Marlies suffered in the post-season.

The Marlies will be looking for a tighter effort tonight and head coach Steve Spott said that defensive zone coverage was one of the things they will need to work on against a strong and opportunistic team such as the Stars. “The margin of error at this time of year really is slim.”
