The Toronto Marlies won’t have to wait long to defend their round 1 series lead over the Milwaukee Admirals as Game 2 of the best-of-five series is set for tonight at 8pm ET at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The Marlies took a 1-0 series lead after defeating the Admirals by a score of 6-2 last night in Wisconsin.

After a tentative start for both teams, the Marlies seemed to take control of the game after Sam Carrick opened up the scoring for the Marlies late in the first period. “I think the first period we had a little bit of jitters for the first playoff game for a couple of the guys,” admitted Marlies Captain Trevor Smith. “But we shook that out and got to tell them to relax and just to play and have some fun.”

Despite Milwaukee making it a close game at several points in the game, the Marlies kept their composure. Steve Spott commended the team on putting in a full sixty minute effort and also said that “As tough as we are physically, we have to show mental toughness.”
