The Royal Winter Fair road trip officially kicks off for the Toronto Marlies (5-3-1-0) as they take on the Utica Comets (0-6-1-1), AHL Affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, on the road tonight at 7:00 pm.
This will be the first time that the two North Division rivals will face each other as the Comets are new to the AHL this season. Over 8 games so far, the Comets are still searching for their first win of the season. With a record of 0-6-1-1, they are currently last in the North Division. The last time the Comets hit the ice was on November 1st where they lost 4-3 to the Abbotsford Heat.
The Marlies will be looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss against the Hamilton Bulldogs last Friday night. Josh Leivo was the lone Marlies goal scorer in the loss and with an assist on that goal, Spencer Abbott extended his point streak to 8 games. Currently, the Marlies sit second in the North Division behind the Bulldogs and can reclaim first place with a win tonight.
Puck drop is at 7pm, catch all of the action on AHL Live. Don’t forget to follow the official Marlies Twitter account (@TorontoMarlies) and join us for the #MarliesLive live chat.
