Playoffs or not (but let’s be honest, there will be playoffs), this marks the final three-in-three of the season. Thank goodness.

The Marlies are in Rochester for Friday’s game against the Americans, their last against both a divisional and conference opponent. Saturday and Sunday will be played at home to close out the season against cross-conference rival, St. John’s. Here are six things to chew on ahead of puck drop:

  • A win Friday will mean the Marlies clinch their second straight North Division title, a loss will mean they must win at least one of their final two games to finish on top
  • On Thursday the AHL announced Mike Zigomanis was the 2013 recipient of the Yanick Dupre Award, better known as the IOA/AHL Man of the Year for his consistently high level of involvement in the community
  • Andrew MacWilliam remains the lone man on the Marlies roster still waiting for his professional debut, when he does he will wear #43
  • The Marlies are 8-1-0 against the Rochester Americans this season, having handed Americans netminder David Leggio the loss on seven different occasions
  • Three of the past four Rochester victories have come by way of the shootout
  • Tune into all the action starting at 7pm on TSN1050 and AHL Live
