The Toronto Marlies were defeated by the Rochester Americans, AHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 2-1 in a shootout on Wednesday evening at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.

Carter Ashton got the Marlies on the board on a power play at 7:45 of the first period. The Toronto Marlies (14-9-1-0) are in Rochester to take on the Americans (12-11-2-2) tonight at 7:05 pm. This will be the fourth of 10 match-ups between the North Division rivals this season. So far, the Marlies have a record of 1-2 against the Americans. Their last meeting was on November 30th, when the Marlies defeated the Americans by a score of 3-2 at home.

The Toronto Marlies (13-9-1-0) take on the St. John’s IceCaps (15-10-1-2) at Ricoh Coliseum today at 3pm. This will be the second of four match-ups between the two teams this season and the final match-up at home against the IceCaps for the Marlies this year.

This Saturday, we’re asking Marlies fans to help us find a bear a good home at the Marlies annual Teddy Bear Toss game. This will be the fourth year that the Marlies will be hosting the Teddy Bear Toss, and we need YOUR HELP to top the 2000 bears that we collected last year.

The Toronto Marlies fell 2-1 to the Lake Erie Monsters on Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Troy Bodie opened the scoring at 19:01 of the first period off of a T.J. Brennan point shot eight seconds into a Toronto power play. Byran Lerg tied the game for the Monsters at 4:43 of the second period on the power play. The Monsters would score a shorthanded goal in the third period from Matt Hunwick to seal the victory.

This past Tuesday, Dave Andrews, Dave Poulin and Steve Spott announced that the Marlies will be playing Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League on Saturday, February 15th in an exhibition game as part of this year’s AHL All-Star Festivities.
