Tonight, the Marlies (4-1) are back on the ice hosting the Rockford IceHogs (4-2-1) at 7pm at Ricoh Coliseum. This will be the first of only two match-ups between the two teams this season, and the only one at home for the Marlies.

The Toronto Marlies are back in action this afternoon at 3pm as they host the Hamilton Bulldogs at Ricoh Coliseum. This will be the first of 12 match-ups this season between the division rivals.

Both teams are coming off of road losses on Friday evening. The Bulldogs were in Lake Erie taking on the Monsters where they lost 3-2 in a shootout. The Toronto Marlies suffered their first loss of the season in their first road game of the year with a 4-1 loss to the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena on Friday evening.

After starting the season at home and going 3-0, the Marlies will look to extend their win streak as they play in their first road game of the season this evening in Rochester against the Americans.

The Americans are currently fourth in the North Division with a record of 1-2 over 3 games. Their last outing was a 5-1 loss against the Syracuse Crunch. Forward Luke Adam currently leads the team with 3 goals.

The Toronto Marlies are back in action this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum as they host the St. John’s IceCaps today at 3pm.

Last night, the IceCaps were in Hamilton taking on the Bulldogs where they lost 3-2. They currently sit second in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference with a record of 1-1-1-0 over 3 games. Eric O’Dell leads the team in goals with 4.

Opening weekend continues for the Marlies as they face the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche today at 5pm at Ricoh Coliseum. This will be the third game in 3 days for the Monsters and the second game in two days for the Marlies. The Monsters hosted the Abbotsford Heat at home on Friday and Saturday and earned a split over the two games.

The Toronto Marlies will face a familiar foe when they open the 2013-14 regular season, as they host the reigning Calder Cup Champions the Grand Rapids Griffins this afternoon at 3pm at Ricoh Coliseum. The last time these two teams met was on May 21, 2013 when the Griffins eliminated the Marlies from the post-season with a 4-3 victory.

Marlies vs. Bulldogs - Sept. 28

The Marlies finished off the preseason with a 2-1 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday evening at the Cobourg Community Centre. With the win, the Marlies have gone undefeated in the preseason.

Game 1 of the QEW Rivalry goes to Toronto as the Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs tonight by a score of 5-3 in the team’s first pre-season match-up against their long standing rivals.

Jerry D’Amigo, who was wearing one of the A’s for the team this evening, opened the scoring at 2:07 of the first period with Greg McKegg adding a second goal less than a minute later. Hamilton would come back to tie it 2-2 to end the first.

The rivalry begins tonight.  The Toronto Marlies kick off the preseason with their first of a back-to-back match-up against their QEW rivals, the Hamilton Bulldogs. Hamilton will be hosting the Marlies at Sixteen Mile Creek Sports Complex in Oakville.

The two teams will meet 12 times this season with their first regular season meeting taking place on Saturday, October 20th at Ricoh Coliseum. Last year, the Marlies went 7-5 against Hamilton.

The Leafs rookies will close out the rookie tournament tonight as they take on the Ottawa Senators at 7pm in London, Ontario at Budweiser Gardens.

After defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in a shootout on Saturday night, the Leafs rookies remained perfect in their second straight shootout win of the tournament. The Leafs Rookie Tournament continues today in London, Ontario from Budweiser Gardens. The Leafs rookies will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7pm. Christopher Gibson is expected to get the start.

After Thursday night’s 3-2 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks, the rookies took the ice for practice on Friday. Forward Josh Leivo took part in practice after leaving Thursday’s game with a chest contusion.

The Leafs rookies take to the ice tonight at 7pm in their first game of the tournament against the Chicago Blackhawks rookie team.
