The annual Boxing Day Classic has arrived! The Toronto Marlies (16-9-1-1) will be taking on their North Division rivals, the Hamilton Bulldogs (12-14-0-1) today at 1pm at Air Canada Centre in what has become an annual tradition for the Marlies.

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Charlotte Checkers by a score of 3-1 on Friday evening at Time Warner Cable Arena in their first visit to Charlotte in franchise history.

The Toronto Marlies were defeated by the Rochester Americans, AHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 2-1 in a shootout on Wednesday evening at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.

Each year, thousands of bears are left neglected in toy boxes and shelves all across the country. This Saturday, we’re asking Marlies fans to help us find a bear a good home at the Marlies annual Teddy Bear Toss game. This will be the fourth year that the Marlies will be hosting the Teddy Bear Toss, and we need YOUR HELP to top the 2000 bears that we collected last year.

The Toronto Marlies fell 2-1 to the Lake Erie Monsters on Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Troy Bodie opened the scoring at 19:01 of the first period off of a T.J. Brennan point shot eight seconds into a Toronto power play. Byran Lerg tied the game for the Monsters at 4:43 of the second period on the power play. The Monsters would score a shorthanded goal in the third period from Matt Hunwick to seal the victory.

This past Tuesday, Dave Andrews, Dave Poulin and Steve Spott announced that the Marlies will be playing Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League on Saturday, February 15th in an exhibition game as part of this year’s AHL All-Star Festivities. Färjestad will also be facing this year’s AHL All-Star team during the AHL All-Star Classic in St. John’s on February 11th and 12th.
