The early morning sun peaking over the Don Valley Parkway, the smell of fresh popcorn and the sound of seven thousand screaming school age children – nothing is more telling of 11am hockey than the way your senses tingle. Just a little different from every other game. You should try it out some time.

But since I have your ear, I’m just as well sharing six thoughts ahead of Wednesday’s game:

Yes there’s a pink elephant in the room, so we’re just as well ...

The Marlies announced on Saturday the signing of both Ryan Grimshaw and Corey Syvret to American Hockey League contracts.

Ryan Grimshaw, a native of Rochester, NY, has suited up for 16 games this season with the Toronto Marlies, registering one assist and 13 penalty minutes and an even plus/minus rating along the way. Grimshaw split his development years with the US National Development Program and Harvard University.

Corey Syvret’s time in junior was split between the London Knights and Guelph Storm. Syvret was a ...

You know the season is in its twilight hours when you can recap not one, not two, but three roster moves all in the same day.

The Maple Leafs announced Wednesday that 2012 first round selection Morgan Rielly had been assigned to the Toronto Marlies. Rielly is expected to wear #44 for the Marlies.
